The Political Nomad with Josh Gillespie – Episode 2 feat. Jim Brown

On the second episode of The Political Nomad, I welcome my very first guest.  It’s someone I have known for almost ten years. I first ran into Jim Brown when he was managing a congressional campaign against my boss who, at the time, happened to be the incumbent. Jim also worked on the main floor of the same building I worked in. Since then we’ve shared a few beers, exchanged some war stories and Jim and his family traveled the entire world last year. Now, Jim is telling the story of his political journey.

This was a really fun conversation to have. Many things have contributed to how this podcast began. My conversation with Jim was one of them. I go into that a bit during our chat.

More importantly, Jim gets to tell his personal story. His story is very compelling, from humble beginnings, to service to his country, to a proud father and husband who has had his fair share of wins and some losses in the world of business and to world traveler. All by the age of 37! All of this has shaped who he his and how he has viewed the world over the years. He was raised in a very “blue” home, became a red meat conservative and now finds himself somewhere in the middle without a political party to call home.

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this conversation. You’ll be able to tell just by listening that this was cathartic for both of us. I believe you’ll enjoy it too.

In the meantime, feel free to leave me comment on FacebookTweet me, or contact me here right on my site.

I’m now on all of the major podcast listening platforms (Apple, Spotify, Google, etc. links on the side) so please feel free to listen there, give me 5 stars (I hope!), leave some reviews and sign up for the Nomad News, the official newsletter of The Political Nomad!
